The English word hippie derives from the word hip, which means “people of fashion,” that word is derived from hipter as they were called to pretending to be bohemians. Michael Fellon is journalist who first used the term hippie to refer to the younger bohemians (as opposed to the old bohemians called Beat Generation).

The hippies were part of the counterculture movement in the 60s. They adopted a nomadic lifestyle based on love and peace to all his actions every day, cursing of nationalism and the Vietnam War, taking aspects of religions like Buddhism, Hinduism, and religions of American Indians.
